    Frequently Asked Questions

At Beyond, we find that families considering us as a therapy provider have some consistent questions.

ABA, or Applied Behavior Analysis, is currently the leading, most evidence-based approach to treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder. ABA Therapy focuses on individualized and socially significant goals for each child. Learn more about ABA by viewing the “What is ABA” powerpoint in our resources section!

Beyond does not provide diagnostic testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder. If you have concerns and are looking for a diagnostic evaluation for your child, you can reach out to Meliora Health here: https://www.meliora-health.com/ or visit our resources page for an additional provider directory.

ABA services can take place in the home, community and/or at one of our two centers, located in Media and West Chester. Recommendations are made based on the collaborative initial assessment on where and how many hours are recommended. Speech and Occupational Therapy are offered in the center setting only.

In some instances, our clinicians can attend pre-school/day care settings with your child on a consistent basis. We will discuss all options with you during your intake process.

Direct therapy in the school setting is typically provided by the local district, thus not covered by commercial insurance. However, your Behavior Analyst will determine whether supervision in the school setting is clinically recommended and if so, will include this time in your child’s treatment plan.

If necessary and recommended for your child’s plan, Beyond offers some telehealth service options.

Treatment programs typically range from 10-40 hours per week of direct care depending upon the child’s needs. Sessions are typically between two and six hours at a time, and Behavior Technicians generally provide services on a daily basis.

    Behavior Analysts/Licensed Behavior Specialists
Behavior Analysts are experienced and licensed ABA professionals. They develop the individualized program for their clients, supervise the teaching, and meet regularly with the team to update goals as needed.

    RBTs / Behavior Technician
Our registered behavior technicians (RBTs) are the amazing professionals who work hand in hand with your child. They implement the treatment plans designed by your Behavior Analyst.

    Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)
The SLP on your team will collaborate with the BCBA, OT (if applicable) and your family to create a unique, individualized program to strengthen and support your child’s speech and language goals. They are responsible for collaborating with the team, monitoring progress and communicating all goals to the family on a regular basis.

    Occupational Therapist (OT)
The OT on your team will collaborate with the BCBA, SLP and your family to create individual goals to best support your child through everyday activities while incorporating sensory integrative techniques to increase their overall independence. The OT on your team will ensure collaboration occurs as well as provide specific goals to work on at home to ensure skills are generalized across environments and people.

Beyond accepts all major commercial insurances. Call now to inquire about the network status for your individual plan. We will run a thorough benefit check and communicate any potential financial responsibility. Beyond is not a Medicaid provider, so we are unable to process any primary or secondary Medicaid plans for coverage of our services.

A diagnosis is not required to receive services, however, most insurance plans will only cover ABA Therapy if a child has a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Beyond will always communicate the anticipated timeframe for starting services at the time of registration. Typical timeframe to begin services ranges from 2-4 weeks.

We at Beyond are dedicated to the safety and health of the children we treat, their families, and our staff. In addition to enhanced cleaning protocols as well as following all CDC guidelines, all families and staff will be asked a series of questions prior to starting a session to ensure everyone is in good health. Additional information on our daily Covid-19 safety protocols will be administered during the intake process.

Translation services for families are provided upon request!
